GENERATOR VS ALTERNATOR

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GENERATOR AND ALTERNATOR 

Generator and alternator both are mechanical driven machines which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.

Both the machines are same in nature but there are some difference between both regarding construction .

GENERATOR,

Machine which convert mechanical energy into electrical energy is called generator.

The most common difference in generator is that it can generate both alternating and direct current .in the generator armature rotates inside the stationary parts.

Moreover generator are mostly larger and size and having capabilities to charge fully drain batteries

ALTERNATOR,

Machine which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy is called alternator.

It can only produce alternating current.in alternator magnetic 🧲 field rotates around stationary armature
